What I cover before a first ride.

Your first goal is control, not speed. We begin with protective gear, a relaxed stance on a wide, flat surface, gentle weight shifts, and a controlled stop. New riders can also ask about the walker-with-wheels practice option listed with the rental.

Is Onewheel beginner-friendly?+

Many riders pick up the basics quickly, but a Onewheel is a boardsport and falls can happen. Start slowly in a clear, wide, flat area. Learn how to stop and dismount before adding speed, and always respect the board’s pushback and warning signals.

What safety gear should I bring?+

Wear a properly fitted, certified helmet with the chin strap secured. Wrist guards, knee pads and elbow pads are strongly recommended, especially while learning. Wear closed-toe shoes that stay on your feet and grip the board.

Which board should I choose?+

The Pint X is compact, lighter, and a friendly all-around choice. The GT-S Rally is heavier and performance-focused, with more torque and range for experienced riders.

Where is pickup?+

Pickup is in North Hollywood, a couple of blocks from Hollywood Burbank Airport. It is convenient for travelers who want to collect a board after landing and return it before a flight. FriendWithA sends the exact address and pickup instructions after the reservation is confirmed.

How do booking and payment work?+

Availability, identity verification, reservation, payment, and available protection options are handled securely through FriendWithA.

Where can I legally ride?+

Rules can vary by city, park, trail, and property. Riders are responsible for checking current local rules and respecting posted restrictions wherever they ride.
